Channing Sargent is a writer, actor, and performance artist.  Hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah, she moved to New York to study at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in the Experimental Theater Wing, and traveled to Russia to study at the Moscow Art Theater. In total, she lived in New York for nine years, acting in film and theater and creating original performance works.  Throughout that time, the West remained her primary source of inspiration. Following her muse, she moved to California in 2005, first to San Francisco, and then to Los Angeles.   As an actor, Sargent has appeared in many short films and indie features. Some of her favorite theater roles include Masha in The Three Sisters, Sophia in Uncle Vanya, and Susie in Wait Until Dark. Her solo works have been featured at Galapagos Art Space, Williamsburg Art NexXus (WAX), HERE, CounterPulse, Shotwell Studios, The Marsh, 975 Howard, and the SF Theatre Festival.  In 2007, Sargent co-founded Observational Science, a company dedicated to the creation of new theater works.  Sargent is a member of the Artist’s Development Lab, New Works West Theatre Company, and is a collaborating artist with peck peck dance ensemble.
